A modal verb is a type of verb that is used to indicate modality, that is: probability, ability, permission, request, capacity, suggestions, order, obligation or advice. Modal verbs always accompany the base form of another verb that has semantic content.

Comparatives: The comparative is used in English to compare differences between the two objects that it modifies (larger, smaller, faster, higher). It is used in sentences where we compare two names, in the following way: Name(subject) + verb + adjective in comparative degree + than + name (object), example: I'm happier than you.

Going to is used to express forceful plans or events for the future. In Spanish we translate this form of the future conjugated with the verb ir in future as auxiliary. For example, the translation of the example above is: "Julia is going to win the contest."
